Disgraced television actress Roseanne Barr’s bigoted Twitter rant and show cancellation is zipping through Hollywood’s grapevine and even made it to the music industry circle.

After R&B-soul artist John Legend gave his blunt opinion on the 65-year-old, TMZ is probing Georgia-bred Family Hustle patriarch and matriarchs, T.I. and Tiny. And though the hip-hop and R&B coupledom are joined together by their longtime marriage, adored children, and industry successes, their respective thoughts on Roseanne are quite divergent.

Reporters of the celebrity gossip and news hub coincidentally caught up with both of them on the same day (Tuesday, May 29) but at separate locations. Tiny was making her way through LAX with their son King and baby girl Heiress when TMZ poked around for her thoughts on the controversy. The Xscape songstress admitted that she didn’t know Roseanne’s exact words, but wasn’t sure if the show’s cancellation was the correct punishment.  

 “I mean, I think she should have been reprimanded,” Tiny said. “I don’t know. I don’t know about cancelling the show. I think it could have been a lot of other ways she could have been reprimanded. There’s other people who have done things like that.”

Tiny does know that it was a “big thing,” but she mainly feels sorry for those who lost their jobs as a result of the cancellation, such as the other actors. 

Tip, on the other hand, wasn’t so sympathetic for Roseanne.

TMZ’s set of reporters who got him to talk met with the Grand Hustle Records boss as he left West Hollywood’s Craig’s venue. He, too, had heard about Roseanne’s misconduct.

“If she really said what she said, hell yeah,” he responded to the reporter who asked if her termination was a fitful repercussion. When the reporter mentioned her scapegoat for the violation, Ambien, which Roseanne blamed her usage of for influencing the racist rhetoric, Tip wasn’t buying it.

“No more than crack is for a robbery,” he analogized. “If somebody can go commit a crime and say, ‘Well, I was high on crack that night.’ If not, then you’re always going to be held accountable for your actions.”

Her role as a comedian doesn’t grant her a pass either, T.I. added. While they were at it, TMZ switched gears to ask for another set of opinions on another trending topic in Hollywood: the stormy beef between Pusha T and Drake. The reporter even had a photo of Pusha’s “Story of Adidon” cover, showing a blackfaced Drake, to reference, asking Tip if he believes the dig might have been a step too far.

“Facts are facts,” Tip responded. “It’s great for hip-hop. I think it’s going to be winners and losers on both sides.”

As for the photo, he concluded, it’s simply collateral damage—a common infliction in the art of rap war.
