Lupe Fiasco Will Make Fans Get COVID-19 Vaccine Before Attending His Shows
People are anxious to get back to concerts once the COVID-19 pandemic is up all around the music industry. While most haven’t thought about how exactly that’ll happen, Lupe Fiasco has revealed that he’s making it mandatory for fans to get the vaccine for the virus to see him live.
The rapper took to Instagram and shared a post with the CNET article headline, “Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will go into use in the UK next week” and wrote on top of it that fans would need to get it before coming to his shows.
“Let’s Get Get Get It!!!!,” he wrote. “You will be required to be vaccinated to come to my concerts.”
In an interview with Vulture in August, Lupe revealed that he believed that the hip-hop community drastically underestimated the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact.
“There’s certain folks in the hip-hop space who come from a place of rebelliousness, not trusting the system,” he said. “[People] ain’t just saying ‘F**k the police.’ I’m saying ‘F**k the police’ as an example of just a general complex of their worldview. They really mean it.”
“I don’t want to say it’s their fault, but when it comes to COVID, when it comes to understanding epidemiology and biology and the nature of viruses and how they work, and the difference between having something that’s been put through a clinical trial versus something that’s just a folkloric type of medicinal treatment? There’s people who just don’t understand that sh*t,” he continued.
“You got m**erf***ers that dropped out of high school, and we expect them to be trusting the epidemiologists on TV telling them about masks,” he concluded.”
