2-Year-Old Freezes To Death After Wandering Onto Her Front Porch While Her Father Was Asleep And Her Mother Ran Errands
An Ohio mother returned from a day of running errands on Friday to discover her 2-year-old daughter unresponsive outside in the cold on the porch.
The Akron mother immediately called 911 and told the dispatcher, “she’s frozen!” The dispatched told the unidentified woman how to perform CPR while emergency paramedics arrived. The little girl was eventually transported to Akron Children’s Hospital, reported the Akron Beacon Journal.
Wynter Parker, 2, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to detectives, Wynter’s mother left for about two hours to run errands and left the little girl and her 4-year-old brother at home with their father.
The father works night shifts and fell asleep, according to authorities
The 2-year-old managed to wander outside on to the porch and was found by the mother when she returned home, police told reporters.
Temperatures in Akron on Friday ranged between 12 and 19 degrees, according to AccuWeather.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office did an autopsy Monday and results are pending. The girl’s death remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
A GoFundMe has been started for the Wynter's funeral arrangements.
