Tekashi 6ix9ine Has Busiest Weekend Ever: Completes House Arrest, Drops New Single, Shoots Video In Brooklyn
Almost exactly two months after his early release from prison amid the coronavirus pandemic, Tekashi 6ix9ine is a free man.
Back in April, a New York judge granted Tekashi’s request for an early release after his team expressed concerns that the Brooklyn rapper’s asthma made him particularly vulnerable to coronavirus infection. Thus, Tekashi was allowed to serve the remainder of his 24 month prison sentence on house arrest. However, just weeks after going under house arrest in May, he dropped off his first post-prison single, “GOOBA”. Soon after, that was followed by the Nicki Minaj-assisted single,“Trollz,” which earned Tekashi his first Billboard chart-topping song. He released his next song“ Yaya” one month later.
Attorney Lance Lazzaro, who represents the rapper, confirmed to USA Today that Tekashi has completed the terms of house arrest. In celebration of his newfound freedom,Tekashi announced a new explicitly-titled single and wasted no time returning to the streets, posting a short music video for the release later that day.
“WHO SAÏD WE AINT OUTSIDEEEEE,” he wrote in an Instagram post unveiling the video. “BROOKLYN THIS MY TOWN NEW YORK THIS MY CITYYYY YOU HEAR ME!?!?! KING OF F***ING NEW YORK YA COULD NEVA DO WHAT I DID AND BE OUTSIDE DUMMY!”
It doesn’t appear that safety was a top priority as not a single person, Tekashi included, participated in social distancing during the video although a handful of people can be seen wearing masks. The one-minute visual for the expletive-laden track features Tekashi roaming freely around his old stomping grounds with a huge entourage in tow. There are also scenes of Tekashi and his crew driving around Brooklyn in Lamborghinis.

The release coincides with news that Tekashi is expecting a child with his girlfriend Jade (whose real name is Rachel Wattley) who makes an appearance in the music video rocking a hot pink jumpsuit. The pregnancy was revealed by Wattley in an Instagram post. This comes after a TMZ reported last month that Tekashi is seeking custody of his four-year-old daughter, Saraiyah, amid reports that his ex, Sara Molina, has been preventing him from seeing his daughter due to safety concerns.
