'The Breakfast Club' Recap: The Crew Discussed Everything From Fraudulent PPP Loans to Chrisean Rock's Baby

And to end the week, R&B singer and actor Tyrese stopped by!

This week on the Breakfast Club, Lil D joined Charlamagne and DJ Envy for a couple of days to co-host, and when she wasn’t there, Jess Hilarious was in the guest host seat. As usual, it was an eventful week of shenanigans in pop culture and beyond. Here are three highlights:

Donkey of the Day

The Breakfast Club wouldn’t be what it is without Charlamagne tha God’s infamous Donkey of the Day. There’s always lots of material so Tuesday’s Donkey was no different. A 59-year-old man was arrested for using his PPP loan to buy an alpaca farm. This is a lot. The man owned a pizza shop that was struggling before the panny, and obviously, that situation made it worse. The man got a PPP loan of almost $700,000, claiming it was to help his business and employees, but went completely off the rails. He closed the pizza shop and bought an alpaca farm.

“One of my favorite forms of entertainment with regards to PPP loans is two things. One, seeing how much money y’all had the audacity to be asking for, and two, what y’all spend the money on,” said Charlamagne. Welp, Dana exceeded his expectations, and now we’re here. Alpaca farms can be lucrative, but all of this was not worth the headache of doing time in jail.

Hump Day

On Hump Day, they discussed Chrisean and Blueface’s drama because when are these two not having drama? As we know, Chrisean had a baby boy a few days ago. We saw her giving birth on live and then she kept popping up on live to share her every move. Not to be outdone, Blueface has also been popping up on live, claiming that if she doesn’t focus on their son for at least 30 days, then he’s going to file for custody. That’s interesting, given that he hasn’t even met the baby yet.

Tyrese Comes in Peace

Finally, we wind the week down with Tyrese. We all know there has been a lot of drama between Tyrese and the Breakfast Club, but he came in peace and reconciled with Envy and Charlamagne. He discussed his new song, which ends his 8-year hiatus from music, and forthcoming music, which delves heavily into his divorce, and he says there are lessons in his music.

“There is nothing about my album where I’m coming unto this thing specifically trying to use my voice, stage, and platform in music to say ‘f--k her.’ Everything about this album is a divorce deterrent.”
