Watch The Depressing Moment When Kevin Gates' First Post-Prison Interview Went Totally Left...

I feel like this is an interrogation.”

Last year, Kevin Gates was sentenced to a 30-month prison term due to 2013 gun charges. Since being released in January, though, the Louisiana emcee has been relatively low key. In a recent interview with LA’s 92.3, Gates was … awkward, to say the least.

The brief, cringe-worthy 13-minute interview apparently made Gates feel like a prisoner all over again. At first, the Luca Brasi rapper seemed at ease. However, around the three-minute mark, things get just plain weird.

He interjects Bootleg Kev and DJ Hed right before the four-minute mark, "Look, I'm not tryna be short with y'all, but I really wasn't prepared to do no interview." Gates expressed that his attention is solely on his family and Luca Brasi 3.

  • "I ain't got no friends. Either we family or nothing."

The hosts kept it professional and kept it going as best as possible, but Gates ultimately felt like it was an interrogation. Interrupting again with, "no disrespect, how long we gotta do this? I just come outta jail and didn't even have time to transition and I feel like I'm being interrogated." They understood, but Gates was reclusive because he felt they didn't have his "best interest at heart."

  • A few fans expressed their diehard affections.

  • Others had an array of thoughts.

  • Meanwhile, these two said what we all were thinking.

Hopefully, Gates' tunnel vision mode works in his favor. Watch the painful interview below.
