Iggy Azalea Responds To T.I. After He Says She Was 'The Tarnish' Of His Legacy
Time can bring about reflection, and it seems T.I. has been doing a lot of that lately.
Tip recently spoke to The Root about his latest venture as a judge on Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow, a promotional effort in conjunction with the series’ Wednesday premiere.
In the new interview that surfaced on Wednesday (Oct. 9), the rap mogul expressed some regret over his previous support of his ex-protegé Iggy Azalea.
Iggy’s career ultimately became overshadowed by her constant Twitter beefing and criticisms of cultural appropriation, which eventually put a strain on their relationship, until the Paper Trail rapper finally severed his business ties with Azalea in 2015.
It’s been a minute since T.I. has directly addressed his former involvement with the divisive rapper, and speaking with the publication, he confessed that co-signing Iggy was a mistake that has left a stain on his legacy.
With that said, he went on to say he’s looking for an emerging talented female rapper to rectify the “blunder” of co-signing Iggy.
'That is the tarnish of my legacy as far as [being] a [music] executive is concerned,' the 39-year-old said
“To me, this is like when Michael Jordan went to play baseball,” he said.

The “Fancy” rapper soon found out about his remarks and did her usual M.O. She ran to Twitter, where she issued some choice words against her former mentor. In a now-deleted tweet obtained by The Shade Room, the 29-year-old dismissed Tip's comments with a sharp rebuff.
“Imagine thinking I was his biggest blunder lmaooooooo. Tip. Sweetie. We have a whole list for you,” she wrote.
T.I. hasn’t responded, yet it’s safe to say it will probably be awhile before we see any sort of reconciliation between the two.
