Carmelo Anthony Docuseries Detailing His Life And Career Is In The Works
Carmelo Anthony is teaming up with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Westbrook production company for a new documentary series about his life and career.
According to Deadline, Seven, named after the former NBA star’s iconic jersey number, will be a four-part series that will take a deep dive into Melo’s life story, beginning with his childhood and cover the ups and downs that lead up to his current life.
Anthony’s Creative 7 company, which he started with longtime business partner Asani Swann, will co-executive produce the project along with Westbrook Studios’ Terence Carter and Sahara Bushue and Falkon Entertainment’s Dexton Deboree and Wondwossen Dikran.
Carmelo is slated to disclose the truth behind the notable incidents throughout his 10-time All-Star career, including never-before-heard stories. Seven will also highlight the balance between being a family man, businessman, and famous athlete.
“The biggest question everyone is probably thinking is why now? Why choose this moment to tell my story?” Anthony stated, according to Deadline. “The short of it is I’ve spent enough time letting other people speak for me. It’s time for my truth.”
He continued: “I look forward to viewers finally having the opportunity to hear about my journey in my own words. Westbrook Studios, Falkon Entertainment, and my team at Creative 7 have been immensely supportive of my vision for this project, and I am proud that we have been able to make this series a reality.”
