Michael Jackson's Daughter Reacts to a White Actor Playing Her Dad
We know where Paris Jackson stands on Joseph Fiennes, a white actor, portraying her father Michael Jackson in a new made-for-TV movie. She's not happy about it at all.
Asked on Twitter for her thoughts on Fiennes playing the King of Pop, she didn't hold back her disgust one bit.
A trailer for the film, which explored a rumored post-9/11 road trip with Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando, was released on Wednesday.
"I'm so incredibly offended by it, as I'm sure plenty of people are as well, and it honestly makes me want to vomit," she wrote in the first of a series of tweets. "It angers me to see how obviously intentional it was for them to be this insulting, not just towards my father, but my godmother, Liz, as well."
"Where is the respect?" she continued. "They worked through blood, sweat and tears for ages to create such profound and remarkable legacies. Shameful portrayal."
Last year, Fiennes offered this justification for portraying Jackson: “[Jackson] definitely had an issue — a pigmentation issue — and that’s something I do believe. He was probably closer to my color than his original color.”
