Police Detain Two at VP Kamala Harris’ Brentwood Residence
Two individuals are now in custody after Los Angeles Police say they were caught over the weekend at Vice President Kamala Harris’ home in Brentwood during curfew hours.
The LAPD says that early Saturday morning (Jan 10), around 4:40 a.m., they received a call at their West L.A. station reporting what appeared to be a potential burglary on the Vice President’s property along Bundy Drive, just north of Sunset Boulevard.
Officers quickly responded and found two people on the premises. However, after detaining the individuals for violating the curfew, officers determined there was no evidence of criminal activity and subsequently released them.
At this point, it is unclear why they were on the property or whether authorities plan to investigate further.
As the Palisades Fire continues, local law enforcement agencies—including the LAPD, Santa Monica Police, and Airport Police—are monitoring fire zones closely overnight.
Brentwood is one of several neighborhoods under increased watch as the fire spreads inland. Since igniting on January 7, the blaze has become one of Los Angeles’ most destructive natural disasters.
Three major fires were burning by Sunday morning, including the deadly Eaton and Hurst fires. Twenty-four people in total have lost their lives in the fire.
