    Nelson Mandela always understood the true meaning of justice and its reflection in society. His purpose in the ANC was not to overthrow the government, but to change its ideas on human rights and equality for people of all colors in South Africa.

    His patience was like none other. While many people did not understand his kindness toward government officials, he knew that was what would create a sense of understanding between what many believed to be enemies.

    He established the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It was a safe haven for victims of apartheid. At the Commission, these people would be able to share their experiences and learn from one another.

    When Mandela became the president of South Africa, he understood the need for improvement within the country. He invested money from budgeting into better sewer systems for low income areas and housing for the disadvantaged.

    As a politician and individual, he saw the bigger picture. He may not have had much time for his family during his early years with the ANC, but his end goal was for all of South Africa to share his beliefs in equality.

    He didn’t become a traitor and stood true to his beliefs. Throughout his lifetime, Mandela encountered many bribes to stop the ANC’s original plan to reform the government, but he didn't budge.

    Mandela kept his grace throughout his lifetime. He experienced a lot of controversy and traumatic experiences but did not let that affect the type of humble person he was.
