How Beyoncé Touched a Dying Fan With One Final Phone Call

It's not the glitz or glamour that makes the star; it's her humility.

Sometimes one call can change someone's world.
Four years ago, Beyoncé met a young girl named Chelsea James who was fighting terminal cancer and had been for about half of her life at the time. Bey saw Chelsea in the audience, brought her onstage with her, sang "Halo" to her and, at that moment, an unbreakable bond between the singer and one of her biggest fans formed.
Over time, Beyoncé made sure to see Chelsea and spend one-on-one time whenever she was performing in Australia, and according to Vogue, she also invited two of the young girl's best friends to attend the show with her. They too were battling cancer as children.
Unfortunately, Chelsea lost her battle with cancer recently. However, before her passing, Bey was alerted and made a very important phone call to the young girl. Nobody knows what the two discussed on the phone, but it can safely be assumed that music's queen bee sent love, joy and happiness to Chelsea one last time. She later sent 100 white roses to Chelsea's funeral.
They say that not all heroes wear capes and it's true, they don't. In this case, one wears elaborately designed costumes bringing joy to the world through music and the other wore bravery on her sleeve better than most adults three times her age ever could.
Rest peacefully, Chelsea.
