Akademiks Unleashes Angry Tirade in Response to Erykah Badu’s Incense Relaunch
The ongoing feud between Erykah Badu and Akademiks continues.
The “Off the Record” post host embarked on a disrespectful tirade in response to Badu's relaunch of a special collection of her Badu P-ssy incense that featured a photo of Jerry The Mouse adorned with a gold chain bearing Akademiks' birth name, Livingston.
“I will give you credit, you are a marketing person and took advantage of this and I’ll give you applause,” Ak said in his live stream reply he issued to Badu on Tuesday (August 15). “Not one n-gga came to your defense. That’s how I know you’ve been spreading the p--sy all over the industry.
“It’s all good, though. You showed your incense, and by the way, I got some. You had the Jerry s—t? That s—t was fire. That was great, W move in terms of your marketing and using the opportunity,” he continued.
The media personality grew increasingly angrier, telling the legendary singer, “it wasn’t that serious. You got your little joke off before. I just had to call you a little used-up c-m rag because if you know, you know, I’m sorry to tell you I’m keeping it a bean! I’m keeping it 100. Y’all keeping it 100 about me I’m keeping it 100 about y’all! I ain’t taking back a muthaf—kin’ thing. But yeah ain’t no n-gga came to your defense.”
Akademiks initially went after Badu while reacting to Tory Lanez’s recent 10-year sentencing for his role in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. The host called Badu an “old-ass h*e” and accused her of being “ran through” by several rappers.
The origins of Akademiks' negative sentiments towards the singer can be traced back to Badu's remarks in 2017. During an "Everyday Struggle" appearance, she likened the host to the cartoon mouse from Tom & Jerry, a comparison that seemingly planted the seeds of animosity.
