Get ready to take a trip down memory lane as Jaden Smith, Shameik Moore, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and more bring to life the moment when hip-hop and disco made its mark on the world in the Netflix series The Get Down.

Aside from the cast, which features both veterans and some fairly new faces alike, the folks behind the scenes prove that the story is sure to be authentic. From respected director Baz Luhrmann and four-tome Oscar winner and executive producer Catherine Martin to executive producer Nas and associate producer Grandmaster Flash, the real deal is guaranteed with this project.

The series consists of six episodes and will premiere on Friday, August 12, exclusively on Netflix worldwide.
