PETA Slams Russell Wilson And Ciara For Not Adopting New Puppy From Rescue Shelter
Russell Wilson and Ciara are fielding criticism by animal righteous group PETA after they purchased a puppy on Mother’s Day. They’re calling the pooch ‘Bronco.’
On the annual holiday, the NFL star quarterback and musician took to social media to announce the new addition to their family in a sweet Instagram video.
“Meet… BRONCO 🐶,” Ciara said of the new dog. “The kids call her Bronco Love Brownie :)” Ciara was thrilled about her gift and even thanked her hubby for the surprise, “The sweetest surprise. I love you, baby.”
This apparently set off PETA, who made their displeasure known to TMZ. They believe the family’s new pup is a purebred and from a breeder.
“Mother dogs are often locked inside filthy cages and bred over and over until their bodies give out,” the organization stated to the news outlet. “One, Two Step mistake by killing a shelter dog’s chances of finding a home,” PETA told TMZ, referencing Ciara’s hit song: “1, 2 Step.”
The continued: “PETA is calling on the couple to Level Up on kindness by adopting a companion for this pup instead of fueling the homeless-animal crisis.”
The new adoption comes after Russ and Ciara shelled out $25 million for a new home in Denver.
