J. Cole Releases Tracklist for 2014 Forest Hills Drive

Dreamville founder goes solo on upcoming album.

J. Cole is taking fans back to the days before hip hop was a radio-friendly competition with next week's release of his third studio album.

The collection, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, is dropping with no lead single (instead a few select music lovers are able to get a preview via private, in-home listening sessions) and, in his latest reveal, the tracklist has no vocal features.

Cole made the announcement this holiday weekend, posting it to his Twitter after a simple message, "HOME." And it's almost no surprise that he's manning the booth himself. For this LP, he's been in his most self-focused space ever, even naming the album after his childhood stomping grounds.

"I ran from Fayetteville to New York, from New York to everywhere, ultimately looking for what? For love — respect and love from my peers, love from the fans, love from the critics," he's said. "I’ve learned that none of that s**t is real. I appreciate it, it’s extra love, but it can and should only help and add to the real pot of love. It should not substitute.”

2014 Forest Hills Drive releases Dec. 9, and is available for pre-order now.
