Young, Gifted And Black: Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson And More Turned Up In The MACRO Lounge At Sundance
Black Hollywood showed up and showed out during the second annual MACRO Lodge at Sundance.
Presented by SheaMoisture and hosted by MACRO founder Charles D. King and his wife Stacey Walker King, the MACRO Lodge brought out some of the most notable names in film and television to celebrate diversity and inclusion during the classic film festival.
Lena Waithe, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tessa Thompson, Mara Brock Akil, dream hampton and Angie Martinez were among the dynamic voices leading thought provoking panel discussions, over the course of the three-day long event.
Not only were there beloved voices hosting events, they were attending them, too. Michael B. Jordan, Ava DuVernay, Jesse Williams, Amanda Seales, Lil Rel Howery and BET’s own Woody McClain and Sinqua Walls were present during the various screenings, panels and parties.
Speaking of screenings, BET Networks hosted an advanced screening of the highly anticipated Boomerang reboot that came equipped with a discussion by the show’s EP Lena Waithe, writer Ben Cory Jones and director Dime Davis. Boomerang’s cast was front and center during the MACRO Lodge at Sundance events as well.
