Cam'ron Has a Few Words About Big L's Suspected Murder
Cam’ron’s back and busy in the studio. Just a few weeks ago he announced that he’s going to release Killa Season 2 in November, and from the looks of it, it may be a little more tell-all than we’re used to from the Harlem native.
Cam posted a video on Instagram yesterday (July 25) of him rapping the lyrics to an unreleased song. The lyrics are pretty vivid too, and may shed some light into how Big L died and who killed him.
"139 Park, we started off as children / Grew up with Big L, and the dude who supposedly killed him / A week before that, though, Big L tried to kill him / What was he to do?” he raps in the first few bars. “When the time’s right I will tell you about these villains / Now everybody dead, so it ain’t about squealing," he continued.
The person Killa’s referring to is probably Gerard Woodley, who is widely thought of as the man who killed the legendary rapper. Woodley passed away last month after being killed in the same location he supposedly gunned down L. On February 15, 1999, Big L died in Harlem after being shot in the face and chest nine times. Woodley, as mentioned by Cam, was a childhood friend of both rappers. Lack of evidence helped him escape formal charges all these years. The case technically remains unsolved.
