Floyd Mayweather Jr. is willing to grant Manny Pacquiao a rematch next year and Pacman will take the undefeated champion up on the offer. 

Speaking to ESPN, Top Rank's Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter, said that after the two boxers were finally able to iron out details for their May 2 bout, he's confident they can do it again.

"I think we now know what the pitfalls were," Arum said. "And, ultimately, with all the aggravation and trouble, look at the pot of gold that we both produced. I think there will probably be less aggravation in a rematch. We understand each other better now. There's a real possibility it could work even better."

The question is will a rematch generate interest after Mayweather skated to a low-action, unanimous decision win over Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena this past Saturday night. The bout didn't live up to its "Fight of the Century" billing, with Mike Tyson even calling it the "dud of the century."

After the win, Mayweather vowed to fight for a final time in September. But Arum suggests that the undefeated champion should skip that plan and wait to fight Pacquiao in April 2016. That's also the time when MGM plans to open a new 20,000-seat arena

"I think the wisest course of action is for Floyd to wait," Arum said.

But before any such plans can be cemented, Pacquiao must have surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. He also faces a suspension or fine from the Nevada Athletic Commission for not reporting his shoulder injury during a pre-fight questionnaire on Friday.

According to TMZ Sports, Pacquiao also faces two class-action lawsuits alleging that his failure to disclose his shoulder injury misled gamblers.
