Fans Are Suing Live Nation for the T.I. Concert Shooting
The parties that clashed backstage at the infamous T.I./Irving Plaza concert aren’t the only ones unhappy about how things turned out.
According to TMZ, the fans who attended the show are now suing Live Nation (the company who put it on) for not adequately screening people who were entering the concert. As a result of the shooting, numerous people were trampled by individuals running out.
They’re claiming they subsequently suffered serious physical injuries and mental anguish due to LN’s supposed negligence. It’s not certain how much the fans are suing for.
Troy Ave was arrested after surveillance video showed him firing a gun backstage at the May 25 concert. Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, a member of Ave’s crew, died as a result of the melee. Troy was later charged with attempted murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon for his role in the shooting. He has denied he was the one who killed McPhatter and is currently out on $500,000 bail. The BSB rapper is also suing Live Nation over poor security at the venue.
