No, Future's Children Do Not Know What 'Dirty Sprite' Is
MTV recently sat down with Future for an in-depth exclusive interview, presented in the format of a mini-documentary titled “The Reign of Future.”
The footage for the 10-minute doc was collected during the course of his Purple Reign tour earlier this year and during the interview, touches on some very real subjects, such as love, his family, the pain he’s worked through and remaining both original and inspired.
During the interview, he also reveals how his children have no idea what exactly their father is talking about on his songs, specifically regarding his partying lifestyle.
“They know my music, but they don’t understand it,” the rapper says. “My daughter don’t understand what’s ‘Dirty Sprite.’”
He then goes on to share that his oldest son has an idea of what ‘Dirty Sprite’ is but that he really does separate his two lives appropriately and accordingly.
“My oldest son, I sense that he has an idea of what it is, but he never seen me do it,” Future continues. “They hear the stories about me smoking, but they never seen me smoke. People always think that I’m just doing this in front of my kids. But I want them to have a totally different life from me. I want for them to make their own decisions.”
