Ronda Rousey Puts Floyd Mayweather Jr. On Blast at the ESPYs
Ronda Rousey is trying to make Floyd Mayweather Jr. tap out.
After beating out Mayweather to win the ESPY Award for Best Fighter on Wednesday night, the UFC's women's bantamweight champion took shots at the undefeated boxing champ's domestic-violence conviction.
"I can't help but really say that I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once," Rousey said, looking directly into the camera while holding her ESPY Award. "I'd like to see you pretend not to know who I am now."
The latter part was in reference to Mayweather claiming to not know who Rousey is last summer.
This isn't the first time that Rousey has taken shots at Mayweather.
When asked by Access Hollywood in May if she'd ever fight Floyd, Rousey responded: “Well, I would never say that I can’t beat anyone, but I don’t think me and him would ever fight...unless we ended up dating.”
Rousey is currently preparing for her next fight on August 1, having told ESPN that her idol Mike Tyson visited her in the gym recently. Meanwhile, Mayweather is scheduled to fight his final boxing match in September.
