Update: Rick Ross Responds to 50 Cent's Lawsuit

One of Renzel's remixes got the "Warning Shot" guy riled up.

UPDATE:

The Bawse a.k.a. 2015's Global Sex Icon, has responded to 50 Cent's lawsuit.

Via a mini inspirational Twitter rant, he imparted these ominous-sounding words of wisdom: "Enjoy every minute of it. ... They file lawsuits to settle for conversation. ... I pray you live richforever."

MUSIC STARS AND LAWSUITS

In what seems like news from a decade ago, 50 Cent is suing Rick Ross for rapping over his “In Da Club” beat in order to promote his most recently released album, Black Market. The track appeared on Ross’ November #RenzelRemixes mixtape.

According to a statement issued to Billboard by 50’s publicist, the Queens rapper is suing Rozay in order to “preserve” his reputation.

"50 Cent's most valuable asset is the name and reputation he has painstakingly built through his Grammy-winning music, acting, and business endeavors," said Paul LiCalsi, partner and co-chair of the Entertainment and Media Litigation Group at Robins Kaplan LLP. "He chooses his projects carefully for the very purpose of protecting that name and reputation."

OUR DREAM RAPPER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

TMZ first reported through a conversation with LiCalsi that Fif believes his rights were violated and that his music was used without his permission.

"Our complaint alleges that Rick Ross has taken these without permission to advertise his own album, and violated 50 Cent's rights in the process, and we believe he should be held liable," he told the website. Another partner from their law firm would add that they are seeking any legal means at their disposal in this case.

The 50 Cent/Rick Ross beef is a long one and it spilling over into the courtroom isn’t unprecedented. In 2010, 50 lost a case involving the Miami native and was ordered to pay $7 million for posting a sex tape during their feud. It’s a matter that still drags on today as Fif recently filed for bankruptcy, in part, to skirt the fines stemming from the case.
