Jeezy Requests Full Custody of Daughter Monaco Amid Jeannie Mai Divorce
Jeezy is seeking to take care of his daughter full-time.
A recent development in the divorce saga between the "Put On" rapper and Jeannie Mai, as cited by Page Six, surrounds custody. Jeezy is petitioning for full custody of his baby girl Monaco, 2, whom he shares with the former "The Real" co-host. TMZ was the first to report this update.
In court documents obtained by the outlet, Jeezy said he and Mai arranged a custody agreement for their daughter in February, but he now believes that Mai's busy life creates an environment that is not conducive to raising a child.
The "Soul Survivor" artist also alleged that for the last two months, the "Raid the Cage" co-host has not given him the parenting time that they had previously agreed to.
They had remained living under the same roof, he took up residence in their basement, Jeezy shared. In a turn of events, however, he claims Mai moved out of the home and has taken Monaco with her.
He alleged that Mai is not taking primary care of their child and he believes that the responsibility has fallen into the hands of her mom and brother due to her in-demand lifestyle.
In September, Jeezy filed for divorce from Mai after two years of marriage, citing that their union was “irretrievably broken."
Mai has secured Randall Kessler as her legal representative in the case. The family lawyer has represented numerous Atlanta-based celebrities in their divorce and custody proceedings.
