Notorious B.I.G. Estate Signs Deal with Branding Agency
The Notorious B.I.G's name and likeness will live on forever in the hearts of fans. Trustees of his estate, mother Voletta Wallace and widow Faith Evans, have joined with a licensing agency Brand Sense Partners to brand his image, making sure that they have control over any physical manifestations of it.
According to HipHopDX, the deal, signed May 20, gives the two control over any licensing and merchandising of products containing B.I.G.'s name, likeness or legacy.
"The family and I are excited to move forward with the exceptional team at BSP," Biggie's former manager Wayne Barrow said in a statement. "Their understanding of Christopher's cultural impact as well as their vision for our brand mission made them the best partner possible for the task. We look forward to working hand in hand with them to build on Christopher's unique legacy."
The company stated that they hoped to "leverage the untapped equity in his brand." Biggie, who would of turned 39 years-old on May 21, was gunned down more than 15 years ago.
