People Are Calling Out Sports Illustrated For Leaving Colin Kaepernick Off Its 'Nation Divided, Sports United' Cover
President Trump calling any protesting NFL player a "son of a b***h" and disinviting Steph Curry from the White House paved the way for LeBron James to call 45 a "bum" in the tweet read around the world and for many NFL players to lock arms and kneel during the anthem or not even showing up for it.
And Sports Illustrated is recognizing some of the more woke athletes in sports today, putting them on the cover of its October 2 issue, entitled, "A Nation Divided: Sports United." The cover features King James locking arms with Curry and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, with Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr, WNBA star Candace Parker and Oakland Athletics catcher Bruce Maxwell, who became the first Major League Baseball player to kneel during the anthem, behind them. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan and Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett are also on the cover.
One glaring omission, though — Colin Kaepernick. After all, the QB's season-long kneeling during the anthem as a protest against racism and police brutality of unarmed Black men sparked many of the athletes on this cover to be woke. That and his social activism is also the reason why he remains a jobless NFL free agent.
That being said, upon seeing SI's cover, people were quick to call out and sack the magazine over leaving Kaepernick out.
Here's How Sports Illustrated Introduced This Week's Cover
What's ironic is SI wrote, "and the ongoing controversy regarding displaced quarterback Colin Kaepernick, whose protest against police brutality is at the heart of what went on in stadiums all over the world," yet didn't include Kaepernick on the cover.
Immediately, people called the magazine out for not including Kaep
Some omission, SI.
It was such a glaring omission that it triggered this analogy

Not including Kaepernick on this cover led one person to Photoshop the QB in
Makes more sense now.
And SI including Roger Goodell in this group and leaving off Kaepernick definitely irked a lot of people
Let's not forget that the NFL commissioner has been relatively quiet about the league's owners not giving Kaep a shot, yet almost immediately responded to President Trump calling out protesting players with a statement. So, why is Goodell on the cover?
Jaguars owner Shahid Khan and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers got dragged into the Goodell slander, too
Yes, as the tweet points out, Shahid Khan supported Trump financially before locking arms with his players during the anthem Sunday. Also, Aaron Rodgers merely spoke up about Kaep, saying the QB "should be on a roster right now." So, if you're going to include Rodgers, why not include the man who he spoke about to help get on the cover?

Leaving Kaepernick off this cover has us all like ...
