Man Fatally Shot 20-Year-Old Pregnant Girlfriend Before Killing Himself
An Arkansas man made a terrifying call to 911 after he killed his pregnant girlfriend and before he took his own life.
According to police, who released the 911 call, Cornell Henry fatally shot his girlfriend, Cherrkisha Jones, 20. A murder-suicide investigation was initiated after Henry made the call, reported FOX13.
"This is Cornell Henry, and I just killed somebody – and I am about to kill myself," Henry told 911 dispatchers.
Henry went on to say why he committed the gruesome murder.
"I am at a lake right now, and I am about to kill the girl I have been (expletive) with because she has been playing games," Henry said.
During the call, Henry said he shot his girlfriend several times and that any attempt to intervene would be too late.
"By the time they get out here it will be too late anyway. Only thing they can do is drag her body out of the river, because she is already dead," Henry told dispatchers.
After the call, Henry drove into the Mississippi River.
Phillips County Sheriff Neal Byrd told FOX13 there was an argument before the murder-suicide. According to Byrd, the argument may have centered around Jones possibly dating someone else.
Police told FOX13 there is a history of domestic violence between the two.
Byrd said officers retrieved a bullet fragment from the car. It has been sent to the crime lab to try to determine what kind of weapon was used.
