Cam Newton Was on Stage With Jeezy During Nightclub Shooting
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was on stage with Jeezy moments before gunfire erupted inside Label nightclub in Charlotte on Saturday night, Charlotte's Channel 9 Eyewitness News is reporting.
According to the Channel 9 Eyewitness News, cell-phone video footage shows Newton, along with the rest of the club goers Saturday night, ducking and scrambling to seek cover from the gunshots that rang off inside Label. Two people were shot and injured during the calamity, but both are expected to recover. There hasn't been an arrest as of press time. Channel 9 sought comment from the Panthers, but the team didn't respond.
Newton was seen on stage with Jeezy as part of the concert festivities for the annual CIAA basketball tournament in Charlotte. Although, CIAA officials told Channel 9 that the concert's shooting had nothing to do with the actual tournament. Last year, two people were shot during a CIAA party that featured Diddy. T.I., who co-headlined the show with Jeezy, was also on stage during the shooting. Yo Gotti was another rapper present.
