ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock Drop Details on New Kendrick Lamar Album
We haven’t heard many details behind the Kendrick Lamar album, but ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock recently provided more insight into the hard work he’s putting into the release. The TDE members talked about the new LP in Lamar’s Billboard cover story.
According to Jay Rock, Lamar has “really stepped his game up” since the last album, while ScHoolboy spoke about his diligence this time around. Although Lamar has said in the past that he’s not feeling pressure to top the last album, he’s moving with precision, or as ScHoolboy put it, "He's perfecting that s**t, 18 hours a day."
Lamar himself can only guarantee one thing about the album: “It’s a good album. That’s what I can tell you.”
The 27-year-old rapper released the Grammy-nominated good kid m.a.a.d. city in 2012. The double-platinum album was named best album of that year by Complex magazine, in addition to ranking within the top two on year-end lists from Billboard, the New York Times, and the Chicago Tribune.
Lamar’s new album is slated to drop within the first half of this year.
