Claudia Jordan Blasts Nene Leakes Over Petty Condolence Comments

She thinks Nene is “lucky anybody showed up” for her after her husband’s death.

After the passing of her husband Gregg Leakes, Nene Leakes appeared on v103 Atlanta and shared how she’s been doing. She also revealed the love and support she’s received and briefly spoke about the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Nene says all of the show’s women reached out to her, but questioned why all of them besides Kim Zolciak pitched in to send her a $200 bouquet of flowers instead of sending individual gifts. She also mentioned that Cynthia Bailey did not make it to Gregg’s repast, though she did show support at her lounge a week later.

When referring to the flower arrangement she received, Nene called her castmates a “dysfunctional family” and questioned why they would have to go in together to buy a bouquet of flowers.

“It’s just such a tacky thing. Did you Google how much the flowers were?,” Claudia responded. “The things that you’ve said about other people, you’re lucky that anybody showed up for you actually. And the fact that people rallied around you, I thought was a beautiful moment so let’s not ruin it.”

Now, Claudia Jordan is taking issue with Nene’s seemingly petty complaints.

“Out of respect for Gregg, I did send condolences and I never made it public. I never put it out there or posted it,” Claudia told Fox Soul. “But I did feel triggered when I heard about this story. I'm like hold up, no one owes you anything. We didn’t have to spend one dollar. It has nothing to do with you, it has to do with your husband.”

In June, NeNe announced on Instagram Live with The Jasmine Brand that Gregg, who was diagnosed in 2018 with stage three colon cancer, was recovering in the hospital after surgery.

NeNe and Gregg married in 1997 but divorced in 2011. They remarried in 2013 and share one son, 22-year-old Brentt.
