The handshake between Tiger Woods and his ex-caddie Steve Williams turned out to be pretty uneventful during the opening round of the Presidents Cup.

The drama actually happened on the golf course, where Woods and his U.S. teammate Steve Stricker were so bad they set a record for futility against the International tandem of Adam Scott and K.J. Choi Woods and Stricker, who have been dominant as a pairing in the past, didn’t win a single hole and didn’t make a birdie en route to tying the Presidents Cup record for worst loss ever, 7 and 6.

Woods and Stricker were the obvious weak link of the American team, which took a 4-2 lead over the International team after the first round at Royal Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia.

“We were just slightly off,” Woods said. “On a golf course like this, it doesn’t take much.”

But the course didn’t seem to present as much of a problem for Choi and Scott, who now has Williams on his bag. The duo hit some unbelievable shots for par and birdie to pull away in the foursome match.

The same could not be said for the tandem of Woods and Stricker, which has now lost its last two matches in this format after winning their first six matches together. They will get new partners for Friday’s round, with Woods teaming with Dustin Johnson while Stricker will be paired with Matt Kuchar.
