Late Rapper Archie Eversole Told Cops He Was Shot In The Jaw While Asleep
New details have emerged in the fatal shooting of Atlanta rapper Archie Eversole.
According to TMZ, the “We Ready” rapper was shot in his jaw while he was asleep on March 25. Police reports state that Archie informed them that his bedroom door was kicked open and was awakened by a gunshot wound to his face.
Eversole, 37, told police that he couldn’t see who the shooter was at the time, but recent accounts of the tragic occurrence proved his brother, Alexander Krause, was the assailant.
Cops discovered fresh blood covering the front door and blood trailing from the stairs to Eversole’s bedroom. Blood was found over the room’s door, the bed, pillows, and walls.
Initially, Krause informed police that everything was fine, and he was checking on his brother. Police were skeptical of Krause’s account of events once they observed blood on his socks.
Krause was arrested for aggravated assault, but his charges were upgraded to murder after Eversole died on April 3 from his injuries.
"Archie was a great friend, business partner, and a positive light for many. Personally, he was a brother to me," says close friend and business partner Micheal Smith said in a statement to USA TODAY. "Archie was a very spiritual person that always put GOD first."
When Archie was only 17, he recorded his hit song “We Ready” — a popular sports anthem.
