Justin Bieber Headed Back to the Movies

The teen pop star is looking to get funny on the big screen.

He’s proven himself king of U.S. music box office. Now Justin Bieber is reportedly making a move to the silver screen in a scripted comedy. According to the Los Angeles Times, the teen pop idol is in negotiations for a major role in the Ashton Kutcher-led comedy What Would Kenny Do? The project is expected to begin filming next year.

Bieber would star as an awkward 17-year-old who gets advice from his thirtysomething self (played by Kutcher). Reportedly, Bieber has been attached to the project for months, but his current world tour prevents Kenny from going into production in 2011. Kutcher's Katalyst Entertainment and Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment will produce the film. A writer and director are currently being sought for the project.

Bieber was also reportedly in talks to work with Kutcher last October to host an updated version of MTV’s Punk’d. Although Kenny would be the pop star's first venture into a scripted comedy, he’s shown off his acting skills in a pair of episodes of CSI, which included a dramatic death sequence in an episode two months ago.
