Following Trey Songz’s December incident where video footage showed an onstage outburst from the R&B crooner resulting in damaged stage props and aggravated assault and assaulting a police officer charges, his latest case update has proved once again that he’s not backing down. 

According to Detroit Free Press, the Virginia-native had been offered a plea bargain from prosecutors that would reduce his felony charge to misdemeanor status and place him on a two-year probation.

During his video arraignment on Monday (March 6) with the presiding Wayne County Circuit Judge Dana Hathaway, Songz has officially plead not guilty in the case. Should he have opted to accept the bargain, it would require that he plead guilty to one count of attempted resisting and obstructing a police officer as well as aggravated assault. Additionally, he’d complete anger management counseling and drug and alcohol testing.

From the Joe Louis Arena incident, Songz was accused of hurling items, namely a microphone stand, from the stage, which allegedly injured a cameraman, and punching a police sergeant in the head, Detroit Free Press reports. A co-counsel on his defense team said that they just received the offer. Despite the rejection of the bargain, however, the deal will remain on the table for Songz.
