See This Life-Like Portrait Of Nicki Minaj Using Only Makeup From Her MAC Collab
Nicki Minaj, perhaps unknowingly, created a perfect opportunity for an organic beauty collab when she named her most recent album, The Pinkprint, and included makeup in the album's artwork. Unsurprisingly, a major beauty brand bit. MAC and Nicki have recently released a collab, partly inspired by, and with some products named after, The Pinkprint.
And though the last few months have yielded umpteenth makeup trends in the form of nucking futs eyebrow designs, we were even more struck by an unconventional use of makeup. For artist Jamaal Rolle, he saw MAC x Nicki as an opportunity for portraiture. As in, he painted a portrait of Nicki — using only MAC products.
His gorgeous, extremely accurate rendering of Nic caught attention on social media and started spreading like wildfire. It's truly something you have to see to believe.
You can pour one out for all the foundation that went into coating that canvas, but at least Rolle used them to make something incredible — after all, it's not like that phase when everyone was putting 100 layers of foundation on their skin for shits and giggles.
Hats off to Rolle — this portrait is truly a work of art.
