Drink Recipes Inspired by 'All the Queen's Men' Characters

Take a sip of these delicious concoctions inspired by the series!

Imagine a night out with the girls at Marilyn "Madam" DeVille's Club Eden. Are you ordering a vodka soda or want to sip a real cocktail as your tax return goes up in flames? Luckily, your resident episode recapper is an experienced bartender, and I have the perfect cocktail menu inspired by "All the Queen's Men"!

  • Daiquiri el Fuego

This cocktail uses a light Nicaraguan rum and red chilis for some heat along with the sweet. What better way to describe Club Eden's resident church boy and on-call IT expert?

    Muddled red serrano

2 oz Flor de Caña Silver rum

    1 oz fresh pineapple juice

    ½ oz fresh lime juice

    ½ oz simple syrup (1:1 sugar:water)

Shake and strain all ingredients over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a grilled pineapple slice and a warm hug. Aww!

  • Double Trouble

Trouble is a reckless party girl with a lot to prove, who always finds herself in a questionable predicament. Who but a tequila drinker has these decision making skills? This gimlet is inspired by a "devil's margarita", for when getting tequila drunk just isn't enough.

    2 oz blanco tequila

    1 oz Lime

    ¾ oz agave syrup

    1 oz prepared red sangria

Shake the tequila, lime and agave and strain over ice. Float an ounce of red sangria on top and garnish with a lime wedge before making the dumbest mistake of your life.

  • Doc on a Roc

    Chocolate City (2015)

For Doc's drink, we're aiming for something spirit-forward like a negroni, with a little smoke and a little sweet but still very strong, reliable and hard. You won't remember a thing you did after drinking this, and that's probably for the best.

    Doc on a Roc

    1 oz Aged mezcal

    1 oz Calvados

1 oz China-China (French bitter liqueur)

1 barspoon simple syrup (optional, for when Doc pretends he cares about you)

Stir all ingredients and strain over a large rock. No garnish needed (or undergarments, for that matter).

  • Amplified

You might get a sweet romantic evening or a locker room brawl with Amp. This obviously calls for gin!

    Amplified

    1.5 oz Navy strength gin

    ½ oz fresh lime juice

    ½ oz Velvet Falernum

    Red Bull

Build directly in a Collins glass over ice, starting with the gin, followed by lime and falernum. Top with Red Bull (sugar free if you're on a diet) because if you stay ready, you ain't gotta get ready!

  • Hurricane D

Big D is the Club Eden's Nawlins gangster, so it's only right that we take our inspiration from his hometown classic. Here, we've swapped out rum for cognac, for a cocktail that is as silky as the cadence of his southern drawl.

    Hurricane D

    2.5 oz Hennessy

    1 oz passion fruit syrup

    1 oz orange juice

    ½ oz fresh lemon juice

    1 tablespoon grenadine

Add the grenadine to a hurricane glass before adding your ice. Shake the remaining ingredients hard and strain over the ice cubes. Use a barspoon to stir it up and create a sexy ombre effect in the glass. We recommend pretending you enjoy the Hurricane D while you're secretly craving the Amplified, just like DJ Dime!

  • The Babyface

    BET

For Babyface, we wanted a cocktail with a soft baby blue hue that goes down easy. But be warned! This drink might have you buying a narcissistic degenerate a new whip before you even know it.

    The Babyface

    1.5 oz vodka

    ½ oz Hpnotiq

    ½ Cocchi Americano

    Lemon lime soda

Shake the vodka, Hypnotiq and Cocchi and strain over ice into a wine glass. Top with the lemon-lime soda of your choice, garnish with a lemon wedge and check your credit card balance before proceeding.

  • Meet Me at Midnight

    BET

If you want to end the evening with something strong and dark, but want enough energy to keep up with Midnight, this might be the drink for you. It has the elegance of a Manhattan and the muscle of an espresso martini.

    Meet Me at Midnight

2 oz Johnny Walker Black label

    3 dashes chocolate bitters

    ½ oz Amaro Averna

    ½ oz coffee liqueur

Stir all ingredients over ice with espresso beans (this is called a "royal" stir) and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a single maraschino cherry. Don't act crazy because you might get put out!
