Mississippi Valley State Cheerleader Ejected From Game After Confronting Alabama A&M Player On Basketball Court

The incident between the cheerleader and team member has gone viral.

A cheerleader from Mississippi Valley State University has gone viral for confronting an Alabama A&M player during a Feb. 11 basketball game, leading to her being ejected from the game.

According to AL.com, while inbounding the ball, junior guard Dailin Smith accidentally touched a MVSU cheerleader during her routine. With only a few minutes left in the game, the cheerleader got on the court and confronted Smith. It’s unknown what she said, but she appeared to touch Smith’s arm. Several security guards and Mississippi Valley State University staff members approached the cheerleader, who grabbed her coat and left the game. The viral clip has gained more than 500,000 views.

The cheerleader’s name has not been made public, but the Mississippi Valley State officials said in a statement, "The Mississippi Valley State University student involved is extremely apologetic about the incident and has written a sincere apology acknowledging her mistake. MVSU officials will be reaching out to Alabama A&M officials.”

Mississippi Valley State officials added that the cheerleader’s behavior was reported to the university's judicial affairs office. The cheerleader will no longer cheer until the judicial affairs office completes an investigation.

Alabama A&M defeated Mississippi Valley State University 70-68 in double overtime with a clutch shot from junior guard Messiah Thompson.
