Mario Winans Is in Some Serious Legal Trouble...
Mario Winans has seen brighter and better days.
The former Bad Boy artist’s past financial decisions could have been handled much better, as the producer recently got himself in some serious legal trouble as a result of neglecting to file his taxes.
As reported, the R&B artist pled guilty to tax evasion yesterday in a New Jersey courtroom (September 29).
He currently is facing up to two years in federal prison for failing to file his tax returns, and will be sentenced early next year, on January 24.
According to the reports, Winans did not pay taxes for income totaling $2.8 million for five years straight from 2008 until 2012, offering a guilty plea for the tax years 2008 and 2010. His back taxes total a whopping $434,968.
The Grammy-decorated musician is best known for his 2004 hit, “I Don’t Want to Know,” which also featured his former label boss, Diddy.
