Petey Pablo Released From Prison
Move over Lil Boosie, there's another rapper celebrating a prison release.
Petey Pablo, aka Moses Mortimer Barrett III, is now free from federal prison after serving two years on a weapons charge.
Back in 2011, the "Freek-a-Leek" rapper pleaded guilty to possession of a stolen gun and was sentenced to 35 months. He had been arrested at Raleigh-Durham International Airport the year before when he tried to board an airplane with the loaded weapon.
He was released from prison Thursday (March 13), four months early, and according to TMZ, the North Carolina native is already getting back to work.
Petey was spotted on his way to collab with Timbaland on new music. "I'm now headed to the workshop to begin what will be noted as my best work ever with one of the greatest producers of all time," he told the site.
Petey's relationship with the super producer stretches back over a decade. Timbo produced the 2001 single "Raise Up" off Petey's Grammy-nominated debut, Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry.
