After Biting a Bouncer’s Breast, Azealia Banks Is Facing Charges
For any Azealia Banks non-fan who ever claimed she was all bark and no bite — it’s time to eat your words.
The “Ice Princess” appeared in a Manhattan court on Tuesday (Nov. 29) to face assault charges after a December 2015 incident in which she allegedly bit a female club bouncer’s breast.
According to reports, Banks was booted from the Meatpacking District club Up&Down after the alleged assault, which also included spitting on the bouncer. The erratic behavior was said to be a result of the club’s staff not taking heed to her celebrity status. She now faces charges for misdemeanor assault, attempted assault and disorderly conduct charges, Daily Mail reports.
Originally, the Harlem native’s court date was set back in September, however, lawyers reasoned with the judge overseeing the case that she couldn’t be present due to a missed flight. This time, the judge wasn’t hearing it and told Banks’s legal team that she’d have a one-way ticket behind bars if she didn’t appear for the rescheduled date.
This court date comes on the heels of her alleged assault incident involving actor Russell Crowe, who she told Us Weekly physically assaulted her and then kicked her out of his hotel suite following a comment she made about his upcoming horror remake of The Mummy.
No details on whether Azealia has been found guilty from the breast-biting incident have been released yet.
