Did Colin Kaepernick Say He’ll Stand For The National Anthem If Signed By An NFL Team?

Here’s what CBS sports is reporting.

Previous to his national anthem protests football was a way of life for Colin Kaepernick.

  • And while it’s been a successful movement that has created an American conversation about race, Kaep is claiming he’s ready to return to any NFL team if they’re ready to have him.

    The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, during an unpublished interview with CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reportedly said he will travel to any city to work out for an NFL team and is fine if that workout is kept private.

    According to the report, Kaepernick claims he’s simply looking for an opportunity to play and wants to be judged as a football player. Kaep told the network that he’s been silent about his desire to return to the NFL in order to avoid causing a distraction.

    Conflicting reports though have come out over whether Kaepernick will actually stand for the national anthem or not. Numerous outlets ran with the notion that Colin will stand if he’s signed, however the original story’s author says he never got confirmation from Kaep on whether he will stand or continue his protest.

  • “Standing for Anthem wasn't something that I spoke to Colin about sat. I relayed what had been reported about him standing in the future,” La Canfora tweeted shortly after his story ran. “Reports about @Kaepernick7 standing for anthem had not been refuted. However, I cant say if they are true or not. Colin and I didn't discuss.

    “Colin would have to address any future demonstrations. I didn't ask him if he would sit or stand. Our chat primarily about his will to play,” he continued. “I know @Kaepernick7 is fully committed to playing football and helping those in need. What he would do during the Anthem I do not know.”

    Colin Kaepernick himself tweeted what alluded to be a response to the news stories coming out. He also retweeted numerous others who tweeted about the story clarification.

  • “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on,” he tweeted just minutes ago. “Winston S. Churchill.”

    As far as his regimine in preparing a return to the National Football League goes, Kaep is reportedly training and working out for six hours a day and in his off time continues his philanthropic efforts with children in Harlem.
