Massachusetts Man Arrested After Breaking Into Home And Cleaning Cat’s Litter Box
A Massachusetts man was arrested for breaking into a woman’s home and cleaning house…literally.
According to police, 33-year-old Mitchell Sayers was in a “confused” state when he burst into the victim’s home through an unlocked door. While inside the house, Sayers took off his shoes and started to clean everything, including the cat’s litter box, the Berkshire Eagle reported.
Officers were called to the scene, where they met the homeowner outside the house. According to the local paper, Sayers was still inside the home when police arrived.
When police first entered the home, they had their guns drawn because previous reports suggested Sayers may have been armed with a knife. After coming out of the kitchen with his hands raised in the air, Sayers was arrested.
No knife or weapon was recovered at the scene.
Police initially were called on a report of a possibly armed man chasing a 26-year-old woman around before they made their way to the home.
According to officials, Sayers was “not making much sense with his statements” to police.
Sayers was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and disturbing the peace.
He was also ordered to stay away from the Mohawk Forest Boulevard apartment.
