Police in Mississippi believe a missing 16-year-old boy could be with a former teacher who is a currently accused of sexual misconduct with a student.
According to Hattiesburg police, Oscar O'Neal II was last seen by his mother at their residence about 1 a.m. Monday. Just hours later, O’Neal was officially reported missing to police, reported The Sun Herald.
Hattiesburg spokesman Ryan Moore said O'Neal is believed to be with Nicole Jackson, a 30-year-old former teacher who surrendered to police in April on a charge of sexual battery while in position of trust or authority.
"There is an active warrant for Jackson’s arrest, and she is wanted by the Hattiesburg Police Department," Moore said in a press release.
The two may traveling in a dark blue Chevy Impala with Mississippi license plate FRA-4454.
Before she turned herself in, Jackson resigned from Earl Travillion Attendance Center, said Moore. Her resignation came after police received a report in March that she was engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Jackson worked with the Forrest County School District for several years, according to Superintendent Brian Freeman.
