Watch: Michelle Obama's Carpool Karaoke Is Even Better Than We Expected
At this point, it's no state secret that Michelle Obama is the coolest first lady to ever set foot in the West Wing, but we really never tire of being reminded of that fact. Earlier this week, we got a teaser of MO channeling her inner Beyoncé when a short clip from her appearance on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke skills hit the internet.
Now, the full version has arrived, and it's even better than we anticipated.
Michelle Obama appeared on the show to raise awareness for Let Girls Learn, an initiative to improve the number of girls in education worldwide. She nailed the "Single Ladies" hand gestures and even gave Corden a driving tour of the White House, but the best moment came when she sang “This Is for My Girls,” a charity single for education, and Missy Elliott made a surprise cameo appearance from the backseat.
They then jammed out to "Get Ur Freak On," and it's worth noting that Michelle knew all the lyrics. One intrepid viewer even pointed out the look on her face as she spit the lyric "copywritten, so don't copy me" — days after Melania Trump's RNC speech. LOL!
Overall, MO shut it down and Carpool Karaoke will never be the same again. Watch the full video below:
