R. Kelly's HuffPo Live Interview Didn't End Well
In theory, the #AskRKelly Twitter forum could've been a safe bet for R. Kelly. In actuality, it was a disaster.
The 48-year-old R&B star walked out of a HuffPo Live interview today because the content was more about his “personal life” than music. The dreaded #AskRelly hashtag swelled with questions about his child molestation allegations, and after a short round, Kelly got fed up.
“I didn’t come here to be interrogated,” he told the HuffPo Live host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. “I did not come here for a deposition. Do you know what that is?”
Yes, Kelly felt baited into a live Twitter roast, but he vowed not to let it dampen his New York City trip. “I didn’t come here for you to spoil that,” Kelly told the reporter before giving her “one more” question to ask. She and Kelly argued a little more before he finally just left. “This interview is over!” said Kelly, removing his mic.
The three-time Grammy winner was acquitted in a 2002 child porn case, yet the topic still follows him. In 2013, the Village Voice released a detailed account of Kelly allegedly preying on young girls, including one teen who claims she was forced to abort his baby. The report came out just as he was promoting his Black Panties album.
Kelly’s latest, The Buffet, was released earlier this month.
