Mariah Carey Hits High Note in Las Vegas Residency Debut
Mariah Carey's Las Vegas Strip residency got off to a high note...literally.
The singer, who has caught a lot flack for some recent flat notes, was anything but during her Vegas debut.
MC hit her vintage, piercing high note while performing her 18 No. 1 hit singles, in chronological order from 1990 to 2008, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Wednesday night.
In true Mariah form, the R&B diva didn’t simply walk out on to the stage. Oh no, darling, she was instead hoisted to the stage via two butterflies, her signature emblem since her 1997 classic Butterfly.
As expected, the wardrobe changes and over-the-top entrances didn’t stop there. Carey reportedly entered the stage on a pink, Barbie-esque vintage car for “Dream Lover,” a Jet Ski for “Honey” and a massive bed for the flirty “Touch My Body.”
Tickets range in price from $55 to $250, with Carey scheduled to perform three nights per week in May and July for a total of 18 shows.
Her Vegas Strip residency debut ended with a confetti-cannon bursting into the crowd.
