Kendrick Lamar: I'm Selfish With My New Album
The guest list is tight for Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming follow-up to the platinum-selling good kid m.A.A.d city.
Lamar’s new album will feature “aggression and emotion” and mostly his rhymes over beats from Dr. Dre and TDE’s in house producer, Digi+Phonics.
“There was a lot left out of good kid,” the TDE rapper says in a new Rolling Stone interview, per Rap-Up. “It could have been a 30-track album. There are a few news [songs] that can tie in with what I was talking about.”
Lamar’s aforementioned 2012 LP earned him seven Grammy nominations and acclaim across the rap board. He’s gotten so popular over the last couple of years, that the "Swimming Pools" rapper could probably have his pick of music heavyweights as contributors, yet he's not interested in tapping those resources. “I have so much to say,” he revealed. “It’s almost selfish of me.”
