Rihanna Confirmed for Wale's The Gifted

Rick Ross announces Rih's remix for "Bad."

Rick Ross announced last night (May 21) that Wale's next album includes Rihanna. The MMG bawse tweeted, "CONFIRMED: The remix of @Wale 's track 'Bad' will feature @Rihanna on Wale's upcoming album 'The Gifted' I stores 6/25!!"

Earlier this month, Rih instagrammed a pic of Wale and herself behind the boards in a studio. She added a Twitter note that they were "cooking up a lil treat."

Both are signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation and had previously collaborated for "Contemplate" off of Wale's 2009 debut, Attention Deficit (Wale sampled her Good Girl Gone Bad, "Quesiton Existing" vocals for the track). In a recent interview for Jay's Life+Times site, Wale revealed he'd been wanting to work with the Bajan beauty again, and actually envisioned her on the "Bad" original.

"Initially I had Tiara [Thomas, who sings the hook] write a reference for Rihanna because I was trying to get some writing bread … whatever the case was, I don't think it got to her," Wale said. He decided instead to release it with the up-and-coming singer/songwriter. "I sat with it a little longer, I was like, this is a hit, let me skip the rich part and let me just put you out there."

"Bad" has been steady on the Billboard charts for 14 weeks. It's peaked at the No. 7 spot for Hot Hip Hop/R&B Songs.

Earlier this week, the DMV rapper also revealed the cover art and track listing for The Gifted, his junior effort, by making it available for pre-order on iTunes.

"I'm excited about this third project," he said. "I've been getting my hands dirtier on this one. I go to sleep easier at night knowing I'm helping to produce these records myself."

Recalling his work with another pop princess, Lady Gaga, who was featured on his first major label single, "Chillin'," he said, "She knew a whole lot more about music than I did at that point, but I've studied so much, I've learned so much from some of the greats, I feel like I can make a hit with anybody now."

As Rozay mentioned, The Gifted is slated for a June 25 release.

Meanwhile, Rih was also recently spotted looking like Marilyn Monroe on the set of her new video, one for "Pour It Up."
