Chris Brown Blames Paparazzi for Car Accident
Chris Brown was involved in a car accident that totaled his black Porsche on Saturday, and now he's pointing a finger at the paparazzi for causing it.
The 2013 Grammy nominee, who was cruising around Beverly Hills when he smashed his car into a wall, says he was the victim of "aggressive pursuit by the paparazzi," according to his rep. Brown's spokesperson claims he was cut off by two vehicles while driving in the swanky Los Angeles neighborhood, when "the occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles."
Police arrived on the scene and took statements from Brown, who was alone at the time of the accident, and all the shutterbugs. No arrests were made.
The paparazzi, meanwhile, flatly deny Brown's claims and say they only arrived after the accident had already occurred. "No photographers were following him at the time he crashed," Chris Doherty, head of the photo agency INF that employs all the shutterbugs in question, tells TMZ. "He crashed his car and it’s convenient for him to blame us. He needs to be careful with his defamatory statements."
Brown and his lawyers want to take the matter to court, stating through his reps that he plans to sue the photographers he believes caused his accident. "We plan on seeking criminal charges and holding them civilly liable," his reps vow.
Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident, but that doesn't mean it's not going to get ugly.
