Wiz Khalifa was a guest on Funk Master Flex's radio show last night, and the rising rap star from Pittsburgh talked Kanye West and his own wedding plans with Kanye’s ex-girlfriend Amber Rose. In the interview, Khalifa said he was "very" surprised and shocked when he heard himself referenced on Ye's latest street single "Theraflu,” (recently renamed “Way Too Cold”). As for why?
"Because he mentioned my name," Khalifa said of Ye publicly stating that he has "respect" for Wiz. "I've gone a long time without anybody saying my name [on a record] out loud like that. It wasn't a bad thing, it's just that it's my name, you know? It was wild."
Despite being taken aback by the shoutout, Wiz said he regarded the song as a positive thing.
"It wasn't nothing negative," he said, adding that he has never actually met Kanye. "Everybody got positive from it."
As for his pending nuptials with Amber Rose, Khalifa said they were still setting the date.
"We're making plans for it, and by 'we' I mean she's making plans," he joked. "We're getting it together, though."
Wiz's new album O.N.I.F.C. will be released in late August. He recently released a new single, "Work Hard, Play Hard."
